Well having a small business is super hard. I mean, I feel like anyone that you talk to will tell you the same thing. You know, I started at 24. I didn't know about a lot of things. I just knew that I love to make cupcakes. And sometimes that's not enough.
You know, there would be times when I would forget to pay the electricity bill and the electricity would get disconnected, or like you forget things or you overlook things or you'll push things. You know, there was a lot of people there, but sometimes we were not making any money. I don't think anyone tells you that. Like, you struggle so much. Whenever it takes so long to open up a business, you're already creating debt. You have your electricity now that you're having to pay. Your water. You know, your rent. You know, you get your Time Warner Cable because you think I'll be open in a month and next thing you know months have passed and now you have that bill too, you know? Like, there's all of these things that add up and you're borrowing money from people to pay these things so you can be ready to open when you're open. And then having to get money to buy liquor and alcohol to even open. It's like , shit.
So when we opened up, we were like, we really, really, really hope that this works out here because we owe a lot of people a lot of money now. That's why I say it's blood, sweat and tears here, because it's really, it was really, really hard. I mean, we're a year, we're about to complete a year. September is right around the corner, so. We're still not really out of our - out of the hole yet. But, you know, every single money that comes in, we're just like, you know, giving it left and right where we need to just, and hoping and praying that year two will, will feel a little bit easier for us.
Granted, I love being here. I'm here on my off time, you know, doing work on my laptop, you know? This has been, really become our second home. We bring our dogs here, you know? When no one's here, our dogs are here, and they're hanging out, and Chris has them outside.
I mean, I feel like my, my process through the small business has been it's been a fun, mostly a fun experience. Other - I mean, I do have had a lot of fuck ups for sure. But, it's been a lot of fun. I'm still having fun.
