We had some gophers when we first moved here. And they eat the roots and it kills the vine. So obviously not a good thing. We had a guy we just kind of hired off the street, so to speak. And we would pay him a certain amount per gopher. I remember the, the very first day, he's like, I got, you know, I got six of them. We're like, oh, excellent. Great. How much do we owe you? Like, how much is it? Let me show you. He opens this, like, piece of foil and like these gopher tails, like, spill out of the foil. Our Lab was, like, right there. Like, raar, like going crazy, and we're like, no, no, it's okay. No necessary. No es necessario. You know, like, we, we trust you. It was like ten bucks a gopher, we were like, we'll pay you a hundred. Like just, oh God. And there's like blood. And we're like, oh my God.
And so he knew we didn't need that anymore. So what did he do the next time? He caught a few more. And he showed - hey, okay I got a few, I got ‘em. Okay, okay. How much do we owe you? Don't get out the foil thing. And he brings us over to this tree, and he's got them hanging in the tree, like, with some of the vineyard tape. And we're like, oh, God! And the dog’s jumping again. And I'm, we're like, we don't know how to just say, can we just do like 100 bucks flat and you just do what you can? So anyway. I still remember, it was hilarious.
