My dad, he always made shoes ever since he was, like, my age, like 19, 20. Like around my age. And he, he's making shoes for over 20 years. And that's how he used to maintain us in Cuba, too. So I always watch him make shoes.

It's pretty fun, though, because you learn a lot of things, you know? And since me, since I'm the helper, I get to, like, learn from every position. I calculate how wide, like, the foot is. Then I write it down on the, on the, on the side of the boot, you know? So that they can stitch it. I cut the, the insole, the soles. I flip the boot because the boot when, when they make it, it's actually inside out. And I glue the bottom of the, of the shoe. Make sure that it stick together properly so that whenever you put it on, the sole doesn't come off, you know? Stuff like that. Everything that the helper does, I guess.

It's fun. I mean, if you like, you like it, you know? I, I can't really complain. I mean, I work like, inside, you know? I've worked outside before. In the cold, in the hot, you know. Can't complain. I mean, we do work from 8 to 5, so we only have five hours every day to enjoy our day, you know, before it's nighttime and go to sleep and repeat. You know? When we were younger, we used to have more time, you know? I am just 23. But then, I feel like I am getting older too. Time just goes by so fast, man. After you start growing up and you get a job and, you know? Time just flies. That’s the way I look at it now.

It doesn't really worry me. It's just, like, I think about it sometimes. Like, because when you're getting older, when you're turning, like, 23, you got to also realize your parents are getting older too. You know? And that's when you start realizing, like, you know, time does go by. But you just gotta make the best of it you can, you know? That's why I don't stress because what can we do? You got to make it the best you can. You gotta, you know, give it all. Give it your best every day. I guess.
